Phish in a barrel
Jan. 25th, 2012 01:29 pmLast night I paid our AMEX bill and our cellphone bill more or less at the
same time.
About 10 minutes later, I got an email to the email account (of the 5 I use
regularly) that I use for the bills saying “The payment you just made did
not go through. Please follow the link below to fix the problem.”
I did NOT click the link.
I went back and checked each site the secure way I log in to pay them, and
both think they have the money. My bank thinks it gave it to them.
So, I’m going to put this down to a phishing expedition on someone’s part.
It’s just a bit spooky with the timing
