I went to the dentist Thursday to hear the results of the scan he took a couple of weeks before.
I’ve got seven upper front teeth that are wearing down very fast and need to have substantial work done on them.
And, the way my other teeth are arranged there are two options:

First just put crowns over the bad teeth. This option would cost only as much as my first new car. Which is a lot, but I got that car a long time ago.
The problem with this is they’ll grind on the lower teeth and be much harder. So, if I take this cheaper option I set myself up to need the same thing done on the bottom in the not to distant future.

Second, crown all the upper teeth and space out my mouth a bit to make room for the teeth. This would cost as much as our third new car.
But, it would stop excessive wear on the remaining teeth. That’s not guarantee that they aren’t going to need help in the future, but I wouldn’t be grinding them down on purpose by the new ones.

I’m going for option 2. Cost of a Saturn SC2 in 1995.

I’m not happy about this. I don’t question the price at all. I’m sad my teeth have worn so much over the years to need this.
I had to have my eye done in February, now half my mouth.
Even if these things remain confined to my head, will I need nose work, the other eye, my ears?
Who knows.

I understand I’m in my 60’s now and a certain amount of wear is expected.
But, that doesn’t make me happy about it.

Is the wear from grinding or eating?

Ah right.
Mine thinks I have some damage from drinking sparkling water but as it is the only drink I like and have drunk it since I was 13 I'm putting up with it

ugh I'm sorry to hear.

My recent "double cavity" was a serious smack upside the head to be better about flossing. I seem to be doing well with the "new strict regimen" since the drilling in Feb.

Although flossing between the work still feels a little weird. It feels like I'm going to pull the fillings out sometimes.

I was supposed to have a growth looked at back in Feb when I wasn't working, but the health plan group never got back to me despite getting the referral with my primary doc, everyone told me the health plan group would get in touch with me. [eye roll]
