The data was saved!

We picked up our iMac from the Apple store last night.  It was the hard
drive motor that failed.  That’s good as it means they were able to get all
of the data off of the intact disks.
Yes, having it repaired at the Apple store certainly cost me more than just
buying a drive at BestBuy and reinstalling everything.  But, I think the
data was worth it.

Continuing this week of throwing money at things to make them better, in
addition to the new icon I made for that, I still have to deal with:
1)    Getting my lost filling fixed tonight.  Hopefully it is just putting in
another filling and therefore covered under my dental insurance.  Hopefully
not a crown or more that would cost more.
2)    Putting the money down on the new car and picking it up Saturday
morning.  Hello tax return, sorry you can’t stay longer!

I am not saying money can buy happiness.  It can’t.  I know it can’t.  I’ve
seen far too many examples of it not working to be fooled by that.
But, there are times it is a lot easier to say “here’s some money, fix
that!” then it is to mess about trying to fix it yourself.
