1/3 century
Nov. 14th, 2016 08:58 pmJust about now it is 1/3 of a century since I first met my wife.

33 1/3 years since that party at Jack's place in July 1983...
In some ways it seems much less. In some ways it seems like she's been in my life from the beginning.
But, you could make a good case that meeting her was the start of my life. It certainly took it in a different direction.
Either way. 1/3 of a century is pretty good.

One of my favorite days
Jul. 16th, 2012 07:45 amToday it has been 29 years since I met my (now) wife! And, 20 years since I asked her to
marry me!
I know I often talk about anniversaries of things that hurt me. But, this
is one of my favorite days and deserves much more recognition than those
bad days.
Adding up the rotation of the Earth, its orbit around the sun and the sun
around the galaxy means we’ve traveled 216,772,888,616 miles together.
And, she is still my favorite person ever.

How far does that girl go?
Jul. 16th, 2009 02:24 pmTaking into account the rotation of the Earth and its travel around the sun, that girl I met 26 years ago and I have gone 15,433,299,448 miles together.
Now, for a special treat for you folks reading this, this year I've done my best to work out the additional distance for the sun going around the center of the galaxy for 26 years.
That would make it:
117,016,823,316 miles
I don't know if that counts as a girl that goes all the way, but it's a hell of a long way...
