Popcorn and Ewoks

For 25 years there has been the ongoing argument of what constituted the first date between me and my (now) wife 26 years ago.
We agree the party we met at does not count.
I say the party 4 days later that I invited her to go to with me and she did does count.
She says it was the movie I invited her to 3 days after that.
As my choice was run over by the 40th anniversary of the moon landing, I’ll concede this one for at least this year.
She drove as I did not have a car. Her car was an old Zephyr where the driver’s door opened on right turns. I have to say that when we turned right in front of the court house, she sighed, reached out and pulled the door closed all without slowing down, I was impressed.
I was happy she agreed to buy the popcorn as I had $10 to my name and getting into the movies cost me $9.
And, she mocked the Ewoks. She knew I was a big science fiction fan and still mocked the Ewoks.
She could lean out of a moving car and pull her car door closed on a turn. She was willing to speak her mind, in a funny way, without worrying what I would think.
I was in love.
Still am.
