There was a weird bit on the drive in to work Monday where a truck refused to pick east or west on the turnpike and hit the triangular point on the divider and stopped. This slowed down the drive.

Construction where I work continues with equipment coming and going.

Tuesday my wife and I left work at noon and went to Plymouth, the place with pilgrims and the rock. We were there to see a concert, but got there very early.

There is a nice tea shop we went to there for a nice afternoon tea and dog patting session.

Then, back to the concert hall, that still wasn’t open so we waited a bit for it to open and were first in line.

We got to meet Thomas Dolby, who has been my favorite musical artist for the last 40 years. Good concert. My seat was a bit strange, but it worked out.

Wednesday I was tired and running on 3 hours of sleep. But, I went home early and fell asleep about sunset time.

Friday at work we had a big review of the project I’ve been on the last 6 months. It went well, so my department head too us out for drinks. (I had a diet coke.)

I didn’t linger, and walked back a different way that is not recommended.

Saturday morning at 6AM we drove south through fog and traffic. We stopped only for bathroom breaks and cake vending machines.

We stopped to get our new tent for the sword troupe, but a problem had been found last minute and we gave the maker another day to finish it.

So, on to our friend’s house in Maryland near a big bike rally.

It’s been 27 years since they got married and was our goddaughter’s 26th birthday.

We hung around with Al and the kids, but decided it was too cold to swim and none of us wanted to walk down the hill to the river behind their house.

Then off to dinner at a hot pot restaurant where Gabriele wanted to go.

Then back to the house for cakes 2 and 3.

This morning we got on the road at 8 for the 600km drive home. We stopped and got the tent on the way back. Traffic was not great, but we got home OK.

Tomorrow, a sword show a few hours north of here…

hooray!

If I remember correctly, one of my uncles on my Mom's side re-painted the statue of the Fisherman, it having originally been a Tiki mask for a Polynesian restaurant
