The harpsichord concert was very nice. I know it is not to everyone's taste, but my wife was nice enough to go with me anyhow. (And, tell me about it in the first place as it is at the college where she works.)

I didn't really like the 20th century stuff much. It was well performed and very complex. But, not to my taste.

The stuff from the 1700's is much more my style. And, my favorite of that tonight was the Sonata by Joseph Boulogne, Chevalier de Saint George. And, not just because he was a well known sword fighter too. (Can't say that hurt either.) But, it was a very nice piece.

And, as always, very well performed by Mark Kroll, Carol Lieberman and Julie Scolnik.

Some of you have said that if the college where my wife works has another one of those free Indonesian concerts like they have before, you'd be interested. (I'm looking at you [livejournal.com profile] palusbuteo & [livejournal.com profile] morgan_lafaye.)

The next one is one week from tonight, April 30 at The College of the Holy Cross. It's free. Show up early to get a seat as the place fills up to become standing room only pretty fast.

My wife sent me a CD of harpsichord music today.
She knows I am very fond of it. (Even if she is not.)
So, it was very nice to get it in my in box at work this afternoon.

My wife and I went to the Revels tonight. We’ve gone every year for some time now, and always have a good time. But, this year seems above average, even for a consistently good show. They had a “guest” singing group of 6 women that was fantastic. (It probably would have been better still if I could understand the language of their songs, but that doesn’t detract from a good performance.)
And, they had a dance group that was just stunning. There were points when I swear they must have been levitating to do what they did.
The theme every year is winter solstice celebrations from a different part of the world. So, it made it extra special to be there on the night of the solstice.
So, a really good time.

The office Christmas party last night, no so much. Why letting people drink at the office seemed like a good idea, I don’t know. Even the CFO said to me “I smell liability in the air.” I left early, so as far as I know nothing bad happened. At least nothing they talked about today.
Today I forgot my gift for the Yankee Swap. That made me quite sad as I had really looked forward to making sure “Project Management for Dummies” ended up in the right hands. But, that’s what I get for trying to be sarcastic.
We did get a bonus. Not much, but anything is better than nothing. And, for reasons not clear to me, they gave out “Red Sox Champion” shirts. I’d rather have had a company shirt. But, that’s me.
Now I get 4 days off. Monday is going to be hectic with driving my mother in law back and forth across MA. But, at least well get to see her this holiday.
