This morning my wife and I went to see Wanted.

It was OK.
20 years ago when we were writing the comic book together, there was a class of beings that was VERY similar to the concept of this movie.
Seeing a movie based on such a similar idea made me like it more than I think I would have otherwise.
I did like the cast. Morgan Freeman I almost always like. Terence Stamp has been one of my favorites for ages.
Even Angelina Jolie, who I guess I’m one of the few who does not find her attractive, does a good job acting.
Thomas Kretschmann gets about two sentences of dialog, but my wife and I both thought he did well just expressing things with his face on screen.
The director has done other movies I liked.
But, it never seemed to really come together for me. I think they spent too much time making Mr & Mrs Smith meet the Matrix, and not enough time making Wanted.
And, the main character never really connected with me. Only the final line in the entire movie made me feel anything for him.
But, I still like the concept…

I think you're suffering residual 5th degree syndrome regarding your comics suddenly coming to life on the Big Screen...That or Big Govermnent is just getting better at being subtle in reading our minds. :D

But, we seem to be able to have more success at doing so with other graphic novel characters (Spiderman, Batman, Fantastic 4, etc.)... maybe it is our lack of familiarity with the stories and characters that this film is based on, maybe it is the actors (though I also generally like Morgan Freeman in anything he does).

The ending was sadly a bit predictable, and I had difficulty refraining from yelling out some Darth Vader lines during the train scene.
But overall, I enjoyed it and I don't find Angelina particularly hot either. I mean, I wouldn't say no to her, but if I had my choice of any actress in Hollywood she wouldn;t even come close to making the list.

It wasn't bad. I didn't feel cheated for my money.
But, I think with just small adjustments it could have been much better.
