The perils of cleaning

Today my wife and I worked on cleaning the spare bedroom of our apartment. You’ve got to understand that even though the sword troupe has a storage locker in Worcester about 5 miles away, it is not climate controlled. So lots of things we don’t want to get damp, freeze, or things like that, we keep in the spare room.
But, we do not usually apply our organizational skills to this.

So, it’s a pit.

And, as often happens, it builds up, we clean it out, process repeats.
The props we had for shows 10 years ago are not the props we need now.
No one has even asked for a Star Wars birthday show in more than 5 years.

But, you clean through lots of old props and such and you take a terrible risk.
We found that we had, once upon a time, long, long ago, had a Godzilla egg.
And, when cleaning we released a baby Godzilla!

(The American one, sadly. I used to have one closer to the original, but it ran off somewhere. Don’t know where.)

Of course, I was not afraid! I told the Dalek to go get it!

This didn’t work well as I think they started dancing....


Ah well. We still cleaned up most of the room. Threw out several large loads of things and made one trip to storage for other stuff.
Still have cleaning to go before it is habitable. But, we’ve got all week...

Yeah.
A lot of it is costumes. More of it is puppets from back when we did a lot of puppet shows. Haven't done those in years, but I don't want to get rid of them.

I don't blame you for wanting to keep the puppets. Back when they frequented the sofa, it was fun to goof around with them.

Apparently inflatable Daleks and Goh-ziiiaaahhs have taken over for the time being.

Glad you were able to take a bite out of the cleaning. It is not easy and not much fun, other than the little discoveries.
