In a little less than 2 1/2 years there is going to be a solar eclipse that crosses most of the country in which I live.
I've seen partial eclipses many times, but never a total eclipse. And, I've always wanted to.

So, my wife and I are planning to see this one.
This web site has some good information on it: http://home.cc.umanitoba.ca/%7Ejander/tot2017/tse17intro.htm

Especially the second map on weather conditions.

We're going to have to decide where to try and see it. Right now out west looks like a better bet....

We had a total eclipse in 99 - I think? - and we drove over to France to see it ... only it was very cloudy there. Had we stayed at home we would've seen it ...

Home for me is 1000km from the closest it gets. So, staying home isn't an option if I want to see it.
Clouds do worry me. That's why the cloud cover average map is very useful...

I got to see one as a kid through a pinhole thingy. It was really neat. I hope you get to see it!

I don't think we could see it in Australia - is that right?

Not that one. While some do come close to you, it isn't for quite some time:
