As the snow melts in the sun it drips down making icicles, even when it is well below freezing.

But, it has been very windy this week. So, we’ve been getting some pretty strange ones.

It takes a pretty steady wind to make icicles grow at an angle.

Of course, when the wind stops they go back to vertical.

Of course still lots of snow in the area.

I had no idea icicles would do that. That's really cool!

Wouldn't want to be under those things when they fall! Ouch.

Those icicles are pretty cool.

Stupid question - do you have something in your building code to reinforce roof structures so they don't collapse under the extra weight of snow and ice??

Yeah, there are rules about how you build your buildings. Some collapse each year despite it.
