Week in Photos
Jan. 31st, 2015 08:54 amI already talked about the blizzard Tuesday: http://fbhjr.livejournal.com/959976.html
In addition to working from home, shoveling out cars and playing WoW, I also scanned some more of those family books my cousin loaned me.
This is my grandfather:

It doesn’t say exactly when. But, he was born in 1885. So, I’m thinking this is probably no later than 1888.
Wednesday I drove in at my normal time. Many folks were going in late, so I actually made better time than normal despite the snow on the ground.
The snow pen is certainly not visible.

And, the snow banks are pretty high.

In many places taller than my car. This presents certain problems when pulling out onto a road when you can’t see if anyone is coming.

That snow Dalek snuck into my car and followed me around all week. They are terrible back seat drivers.

Wednesday I went to the dentist. It went better than I thought. The tooth that was bothering me was just pressing against another one with force and he was able to fix that quickly by trimming it down some.
Next week I go back for two crowns. That won’t be as much fun.
He wasn’t very busy. But, maybe because no one can see his sign behind the snow.

At least the stars were out.

The front steps were quite icy Thursday morning.

Going in Thursday was much more of a problem. Everyone was back on the road, but several forgot that it was still slippery out.

Two different cars went off the road in the 20 miles I’m on that one highway.

(That’s the same one twice, but the principal is the same. I got off the highway before the second one to get around some of the traffic…)
Sitting at a complete stop when it is only 1F/-17C is not fun.

The snow Dalek shouting "exterminate!" from the back seat doesn’t help either…
Thursday we did our sword study group.

I took some photos this week so my wife can be seen to participate not just make cookies.

Friday, more snow.

But, not too much.
Today we’re off to the museum for their "Flora in Winter", coming home for laundry then going to perform a pirate show in Western Massachusetts starting at 9PM in the cold at a pub doing a pirate night. But, those will be other posts. (OK, not the laundry.)

Date: 2015-01-31 02:33 pm (UTC)I was going to try and see the Klimt painting at the MFA but the super high snow mounds are making walking in Boston tough.

Date: 2015-02-03 01:57 am (UTC)Some is light and fluffy, some is heavy and soggy. Many times you get a bit of both.
It is all highly dependent on the temperature when the snow forms.
It is like rain. Sometimes rain is nice and warm and fun to be in. Sometimes it is cold and awful.
Same thing, just more frozen.
