A dream with [livejournal.com profile] pallid_regina

Last night I dreamed that my wife and I had gone out to Kentucky to visit
[livejournal.com profile] pallid_regina and her husband.
The house they have was the same in the dream. But, instead of what they
really have for a back yard, behind their house was a hill with a train
track running along the bottom.
In what seemed to be part of their back yard was a train platform much like
those at the commuter train stations near where I live.

I was standing around the train tracks and platform talking with [livejournal.com profile] pallid_regina’s husband as he chopped wood.
There was a very large pile of wood that he was going through, but wanted
to do it himself, so I was just chatting with him.

I had not realized the train tracks were in use, so was surprised to hear a
train whistle and see one coming towards us on the track.
“You’d better get off the track,” he said. “That train is coming right
through to here.”

I got off the tracks and excused myself to go up to the house and use the
bathroom.
When I went into the house there was some sort of event going on. It
seemed like a gift giving occasion, but I wasn’t sure if it was a birthday
or some sort of wedding/baby shower as it seemed like it was only women
there.

I went through the room to the bathroom.
“We have a new toilet,” [livejournal.com profile] pallid_regina said as I went past. “We
keep the old toilet seat in the closet next to it if you need it.”

That seemed strange to me, but I kept going.

When I got to the bathroom I saw the problem. The new toilet was a fish
tank. There was no where to sit on it other than the top of the tank. I
saw the old seat in the closet next to it, but it wasn’t clear how it was
supposed to fit on.

I decided to go back outside and ask her husband so I wouldn’t interrupt
the party again.
As I walked down the hill, the train was pulling up to the platform. I saw
it was an old style steam engine and it gave off a lot of smoke and steam
as it came past.
It stopped just past the platform so that the one car it was pulling was in
front of [livejournal.com profile] pallid_regina’s husband.
I saw the car was a flatbed car piled high with more wood.

A man jumped out of the train engine and walked up to the platform.
“This is the last load of wood!” he shouted up. “I hope it will be enough!”
“I know you,” I said. “You’re their friend who does all the science
fiction conventions.”
“That’s right!” he said. “Good to see you again.”

Dream ends

I’m not really sure what brought on this dream.
Some of the visual images I can identify.
Last night I was getting ready for the Phoenix Swords Christmas party by
going through all of our photos for the year. I saw the one where I picked
up [livejournal.com profile] ravena_kade at the train station to go to Florida last
February:

Maybe that’s where the image of the train station and a train arriving came
from.
But, this year [livejournal.com profile] pallid_regina and her husband didn’t do any jobs
with us and we weren’t able to go out and visit them as we have the last
few years. It is sad as I like them and always enjoy when they can do
shows with us, or we get to visit them. But, we’ve never got together this
time of year.
So, I’m not sure why they showed up in the dream.

I don’t recall ever seeing her husband chop wood. As we usually visit in
the summer time, I have no idea how their home is heated. It could be
wood. We’re usually there when it is 95F/35C or more. So, I certainly
don’t think of it as a place that needs heat, even if I’m sure it does in
the winter.

I have no idea at all about where a fish tank toilet would come from.
Having a new toilet is probably because our apartment got a new one last
month. But, it isn’t a fish tank and looks nothing like one.
So, I am also confused about that.
