Botanical day 2

The show went well. Today, no rain at all.
It was 34F/1C this morning when we got to the show. That involved scraping ice off of the car at the hotel this morning.
But, once the sun came out, it warmed up quite well.
Even bigger crowds that yesterday. Our two new members did a lot of performance.
We got a lot of good feedback.

We stopped at the only Golden Corral (all you can eat buffet restaurant) in our state on the way home and bought everyone dinner.

I'm glad everything went well and we're home. To unwind we'll watch yesterday's Doctor Who.
Then, get some sleep to be back at the day job tomorrow.

I've always had people tell me that Golden Corral is kinda a low-class place. Would you consider that true?

It is certainly not a high class place.
Any of the "all you can eat family restaurants" are not very high class.

They are very good for feeding a lot of people for not so much money. And, therefore popular for youth sports teams, big families and groups like that.

Honestly I was surprised when it was suggested. I hadn't even known there were any in our part of the country. It turns out there is that one in Massachusetts and no others.
The three folks who did the show with us were all young (18, 19 & 20) and thought it was good.

It isn't a place my wife and I would go on our own. But, when we're done with a show and have a bunch of folks to feed? Sure,

It did get much warmer. It was probably somewhere between 15 and 20 by the end of the day.

I got some. Some is better than none.
But, after something like this I can't just go home and sleep. It takes some time to wind down.
But, we got home early enough that even with that we got to bed not too late...

I can't eat at Golden Corral. Something they use in the food, and I never know what they use it on to avoid it, gives me horrible heart burn and indigestion. My kids love the place though.

My wife has the same problem with Dunkin Donuts. Doesn't matter what she gets there, she can't eat it.

Golden Corral has so many commercials on TV around here, yet no locations! It drives me crazy. Sonic does the same, too. Hell, and Dunkin Donuts. Is their food good? TV always makes it look amazingly good, but commercials always do that...

You still see ads for them on the Boston TV stations, even with only one place in the whole state. But, maybe those are national comercials.
We don't have Sonic here either.

We do have Dunkin Donuts. This is where they started, so there is often more than one per town.
They're OK. I'm told the coffee is really good, but I don't drink coffee.
And, their food makes my wife sick.
So, we don't eat there much....

From what I understand, sometimes it's cheaper to buy national commercials instead of all your little local markets, plus it drums up interest for if/when the company comes to a new state.

Sorry it makes her sick! Maybe that's a sign that they're not as clean as they could be.
