Week in photos
Feb. 22nd, 2014 04:42 pmThe warm/cold/warm/cold cycle we’re in these days certainly helps form a lot of icicles.

I hope not to be under them when they fall off.
I had Monday off for President’s day, but my wife didn’t. So, I stayed home and cleaned up after her cupcake experiments of the weekend.
If the cupcakes were made with the blood of her enemies, then what was the brown stuff covering the floor?
Whatever it was, it was stuck on good and I had to get out one of the daggers to get it off.

(Yes, taking a dagger to all of it took a while. But, I had the day off.)
There was a lot of weather this week. Although driving was tricky, sometimes it looked cool.

But, often it was just grey.

Tuesday should be renamed "snowday" as it seems to like to snow on Tuesday.

It wasn’t supposed to be that big of a storm, but it covered things fairly quickly.

And it covered the walkway quickly too.

By about 2 in the afternoon there was as much as they had predicted all day.

I left as soon as my hours were up and cleaned off my car.

The roads were less than good.

It wouldn’t be so bad if everyone else just decided to stay home.

But, I won’t so why should they?
One of the problems with driving in winter is that the lanes get narrower.

Before I got home clear patches were already showing in the sky.

Wednesday I returned the broken sword for repairs.

On Thursday it was above freezing, so the storm was rain.

There was enough snow that it did not all melt.

The snow took on that look it has when water has been poured over it.

Some of the hill looks to me like the photos from Mars where they say "we’re not sure if this is a sign of water or not."

And, all that snow melting turns into fog.

My wife had her hair done yesterday. This morning she discovered there was a lot of the holding spray still in her hair.

When we went out this morning it was very icy as all that rain and melted snow froze overnight.
But, it wasn’t very thick. So, once the sun was up it melted away. You could see it melting away in the shadows as the sun rotated towards it.

Date: 2014-02-25 12:06 pm (UTC)February is our snowiest month. We are above the average for total snow fall this year, but no where near the record. And, this year it has melted much more between storms than normal. So, having it stay on the ground for a week or more is normal, but hasn't happened much this year.

Date: 2014-02-26 01:05 pm (UTC)And there are quite a few on record.
So, it seems bad this year, but there have been many worse.
