The dog grooming place up the hill from where I work left off flyers for
people in our lunchroom.
They are having a special sale where you can “self wash your dog for only
$15.”

This seems very strange to me.
Why would I pay $15 to wash a dog myself. Right now I don’t have a dog,
and that may be for the best. If every time I washed my dog myself I would
need to send these people $15.

Now, these are the same folks that have had dogs so terrified of them that
they run off and spend several nights in the swamp.

So, I’m not totally convinced they get along with dogs all that well in the
first place.
But, the dogs are paying the money, presumably the people are.
I just don’t understand how.

Personally, I think $15 is a lot.
If I can figure out how they get paid, I’ll set up the same thing for only
$5.
Isn’t that better?
Rather than send these folks $15 every time you wash your dog, you only
have to send me $5.
I’m much more reasonable.

If I had a dog - particularly a large one - I'd gladly pay $15 for a nice place to wash him myself. Way better than making a giant mess out of my bathtub and ruining my back trying to wrestle him clean in it.

But... I don't have a dog.

Hmmm.
We have (3) dogs, and the smallest one is 45 pounds, but I wouldn't want to have to go through the trouble of packing them into the car and driving them somewhere, AND paying $15 each for me to give them a bath. I'll take the at-home convenience and $45 savings and put up with the dirty & wet bathroom that results from dog bathing. now if they were actually going to give the dog a bath, that would be a good price..

Our girls do pretty well in the tub, but some of the wash places are nice and they give you towels that you don't have to wash yourself after your done, or clean the bathroom of excess water. i don't know if it is worth 15 dollars unless they give me about an hour of time all to myself. However I would be concerned about using a place that terrifies their clients pets.

Is it like a hyro wash - we have them at vets here -and they are about $10 or so. Maybe they charge that much to use their equipment.

Maybe the have this special equipment that you can use, and that has to be payed for. But still, $15 is a high price.

If I had a dog, I'd want to take it somewhere else to wash it, but $15 seems really high for that.

We do not wash our dogs ourselves. Life's too short, and ours have tended to hate water. So we pay for someone ELSE to do it.

I would not want to do it myself, even if the $15 included special dog-washing facilities. If I wanted to do it myself, I would.
