fbhjr: (Sword)

I dreamed that I was working in an office building that is far less open than the one where I work now. There were lots of corridors and closed rooms.

For some reason, I had all the swords from our Phoenix Swords group in my office with me.
My phone rang.
“I know you have the sword I want,” the Kurgan said. “I am coming to get it. Hand it over and your death will be merciful.”

I went to my boss and explained what was going to happen.
“Take your swords and barricade yourself in the conference room,” he said. “I’m going to evacuate the office and only leave the security guards to try and stop him.”
“They can’t stop him,” I said.
“They have to try. We can’t let him get that sword.”

I pulled the bags of swords into the conference room, locked the door and moved some furniture in front of it.
I took out all of our sword trying to figure out which one the Kurgan could possibly want.
I checked the edge of all them, and they were all blunt as the should be for our performances.
There wasn’t anything unexpected, or sharp in the whole bag.

I knew I needed something that was sharp to have a chance of cutting his head off. The only thing we have even close to sharp is one dagger that is very pointed and the sickles.
So, I grabbed the danger and a sickle and got behind the conference table to wait.

Soon I heard shouting and shooting out in the office. Then, silence.

Soon after that there was a pounding on the door to the conference room. When it was clear it was blocked, he began chopping it open with his sword. It did not take him long to destroy the office furniture barricade.
He climbed into the room through the wreckage.

All my swords were still laid out on the table. As he walked towards me he looked at them. He stopped and picked up one of the falchions. He ran his thumb along the blunt edge.

He got up to me at the end of the room where I waited with my dagger and sickle.

“This is all your swords?” he asked.
“Yes,” I replied. “I don’t see how any of them could be what you want.”
“Yeah. I must have had the wrong number or something. I guess I’ll keep looking.”
He turned and headed back out of the room.
“I’m hungry,” he said. “You want to go get something or get a beer?”
“I don’t drink,” I said. “But, I’m pretty hungry.”
“Cool, let’s go.”
Dream ends

I was reading a French sword manual yesterday that applies to our new swords.
And, Clancy Brown has clearly been on my mind.
But, I’m still not at all sure what’s bringing this on.
