Phoenix Swords has talked about doing Star Wars theme performances for years, but today we finally did one.
Granted, it was for the birthday party of my goddaughter, not a real paying gig. But, still.
I really like my friend Al. He’s been one of my best friends for more than a quarter of a century. His kids are my godkids and probably the closest I’ll have to kids of my own.
But, there are times I wish he lived closer.
Specifically, at 6:05 this morning when my wife said “shouldn’t the alarm have gone off ½ hour ago?”
But, we did get up, get going and make the drive down here. We got in a bit before 2, which wasn’t bad given the traffic jams in both NY and NJ.
And, the party went well.
My wife and our other Sith spent more of the afternoon under a flowering cherry tree waiting for their queue to come on. The other “jedi” and I got to keep a dozen 8 year olds occupied for 3 hours. We did. The food and cake helped a lot. The kids figured out my “probe droid” was a trash can lid with some glowing wire on it, but the parents didn’t. Score one for the kids. (My godkids are very, very smart. Their dad was smarter than me when we were in college together. Their mother has a PhD and is an MD as well. So, smart kids.)
When the Sith finally did invade, demanding cake, the kids loved it. So, I guess it all worked out.
Pictures some time later. Tomorrow, the zoo.

It went well.
The zoo was good.
I didn't expect 3 extra hours of traffic coming home.
So, I'll write more later.
