Silver Kingdom’s faire day one
Jun. 16th, 2012 10:07 pmToday was day 1 of the Silver Kingdoms Renaissance faire.

The faire is at the site of our own faire last year.

Of course, these folks own the site, so save the rental fee to have their own faire there.
Even at their faire there was a lot of extra room.

We did our historical show and more fruit died for it.

There were some interesting costumes there.

Some of our members entered the boffer weapon tournament.

One won

We tried not to disrupt it.

Before our second historical show,

The historical show went well.

Once we finished, some people came up to me and said they had driven “all the way from the ocean” to see the show and could we do it again?

The ocean is about 50 miles. But...

Meanwhile,

He ended up fighting Devon, one of our other members for the medium category win.

Of course he’s been fighting with us for 9 years, so I wasn’t surprised he won.
We did our final show after some musicians we’ve seen at plenty of other shows.

Although we weren’t so happy at our first show for a musician who ran late, for our last show with folks we liked, we had no problem waiting.

As I’m in 3 of the 4 we’re doing, I only got photos of the last one.

Some of our CT folks had family and friends show up late (for the impending surprise party for Dave) so we did another historical show, including throwing a spear at Dave in front of his family.

After that a stuffed dice throwing even started.

My wife resisted the desire to throw stuffed dice.

The dice game grew and turned into a large throw the dice game.

After the faire ended, we had a surprise party for Dave.

My wife and I didn’t stay too late as we were both tired. I can hear her snoring in the next room now, so I think I’m going to sign off and join her.
