Last night I had a dream that I don’t remember very well now.

We had been doing a Phoenix Swords show at some sort of college.  In layout
it was similar to some of the places we saw in Saint Augustine last
December, but with more of a hill.

When the show was over, I rode over to where our equipment was being loaded
with some of the others.  When loaded, we were one seat short for bringing
everyone back.  So, I said I’d walk back to my car and if my wife got there
first, she could come and pick me up part way.

What had been only a very short drive turned out to be a very long walk.
You weren’t allowed to walk along the path we had driven and needed to take
the long way around.

This involved walking down by the ocean, which was very nice.  It looked
like the way I remember the coast of California just south of San
Francisco.  (I haven’t been there in almost 20 years, so I don’t know if it
is as nice as I remember.)

It started to get dark and I was worried my wife did not know I had been
sent down this longer road and was looking for me on the other route.
There didn’t seem to be anyone else along the road I was taking.  There was
some sort of lodge or beach house on top of a dune near the road, but there
were no lights on or cars outside.
I decided it was still worth looking to see if I could find a phone and
call my wife, so I headed up to it.
Dream ends

I dropped my car off at the dealership to get stain resistance put on
yesterday and walked back to the office, then walked back to get it at the
end of the day.  Both ways I was listening and singing along with sea
shanties.  So, it is not a surprise to me to dream about walking to my car
by the sea.
This weekend we have a Phoenix show at a college.  Granted, Smith college
is about 100 miles from the sea, but I’m sure it isn’t hard to combine them
in my dreams.  And, in my dreams it was a long walk.  And, much like in the
dream, we’ve been telling people that some folks drove on the walking paths
last year and that should be avoided this year.
The only item I’m not sure about is the lodge at the end.  That is the part
that is the most clear in my memory and I can still picture it vividly on
top of the dune, with some dune grass sprouting around it with the almost
dark sky after sunset behind it and the starts coming out.
But, I can’t connect it to anything I know.
