Blue & Gold
Mar. 11th, 2012 08:10 pmFor the last few years Phoenix Swords has done a Cub Scout Blue and Gold dinner as one of its first shows of the year.
So, after two days in Pensacola, we did our Blue and Gold here in MA.

The nice thing was this one was in a hall with a big ceiling and lots of space.

We did have a couple of odd moments.
One was when I said that many of the early manuals were written by priests.
“What’s a priest?” one of the kids asked.
I looked and all of the kids had blank looks.
Strange when you consider that the scouts come under the heading of a religious organization and that’s how they keep out people who are gay.
You’d think they would have at least heard of priests.
The other was when one of our women members was doing a fight they asked “Did people kill women?”
Yes, yes, they did.
But, other than that it went well.
