As I sat waiting for my plane a young couple sat in the seat behind me.
The woman was young and blond and telling the man how much she liked America over Hungary where she was from.
"Here in America I got to a club and ask men to dance, they say yes!
"I ask if I can spend the night at their place and they say yes!
"I ask if I can move in with them and they say yes!"
I have to admit I am surprised to find Hungarian men apparently won't dance with bring home or live with young blond women.

If America is so friendly, why is everyone leaving?

When waiting in line at the terminal donut shop I heard the same conversation four times.
"Are you going to Nicaragua? So am I!"
They all appeared to be college students who knew each other, but didn't know they were all going to Nicaragua.
Is that the hot new tourist place for spring break?

On the plane I found I had left my wired headphones at home and you can't used the Bluetooth ones on the plane. But, they offered ones to watch the movie so I took those and put them into my iPad. The announcement said they were $2, but they didn't charge me.
I haven't flown American in a while, but so far I'm liking it. They automatically fixed my cancelled flight, gave me free headphones and have seats better than some I've had.

But, then when I got up so the person next to me could go to the bathroom, I saw how cheap the headphones were. The dropped from my hip to the arm of the chair, and disintegrated on contact. At most 6".
Ah well.

The Hungarian girl was in the row in front of me and sat in the seat with one leg up in the air. It was very strange. I can only imagine what the chairs in Hungary must look like.

I seem to have caught the thing from my wife where thinking about things make them come true.
I was thinking we'd be flying through the Bermuda triangle and wondered about "lost time" or other things.

Then, we landed on time, but the gate wasn't ready. I was only scheduled to have 40 minutes on the ground and we waited 20 to get off. And, I had to go from gate 16 to gate 60. There is a train, but I still only got there with 2 minutes to spare.

Then I was thinking the last time I was at the Miami airport, in 1968, we didn't have jet ways and we had to walk out on he tarmac to our plane. And how exciting that was to me when I was just shy of 5 years old.
So, the flight to Pensacola, out on the tarmac to the plane. And, sitting with excited kids next to me and behind me.

But, I got to the plane and will get to Pensacola.
At least this time I've got a window seat. That Everglades. Big swamp....

Then, the landing....
I've been flying on commercial jets since I was 4. I'm now 48. It's been hundreds of flights.
I have never seen a commercial pilot drop altitude by pointing the nose of the plane at the ground.
The air flight attendant happened to be next to me at the time collecting cups from the drink service.
She braced herself on the ceiling and muttered "Oh shit!"
Then, louder "Service is over, prepare to land!"
Suddenly the clouds parted and I could see Pensacola bay.
Good news, we pulled up.
I was a bit worried for a while.
It really seems to me like the pilot forgot where he was going and was told to drop fast. OR, maybe the Blue Angles told the slow jet to get out of the way.
Don't know. Glad we got to the ground safely.

Someday there will be pictures.
Now, we've got a show to do.
