I dreamed that we went to a LARP event that was supposed to be a Ren Faire
as well.
I was disappointed by it because instead of having professional vendors at
it, it was folks from the LARP group selling their stuff.  That might be OK
if it was all LARP stuff, but it really was more of a yard sale/flea market
than anything LARP themed.
The outdoor events were taking place on a baseball diamond and appeared to
be people hitting each other with boffer weapons with no purpose or
supervision.  Not sure if that was the actual LARP or just folks warming up
for it, I went back into the building.
The building was long and thin with folks lining each side with their
tables of stuff.
I was hungry, so started looking for someone selling food.  There was a
snack bar, but no one was there.  Someone was cooking some food on their
Foreman grill, but they were asking huge prices for it.  ($10 a hamburger.)
I got to the far end and there was a small plywood stage set up that was
empty.
“Did I miss the debate?” I asked my wife who was standing in front of it.
“None of the candidates have shown up,” my wife told me.
“Christie promised!” I said.
“He doesn’t want to be seen at a LARP,” my wife said.  “He thinks it is too
fringe.”
“Then Bachmann must be here,” I said.  “Fringe is her thing!”
We looked around.  Out in front of the building we saw someone dressed like
a tree from the Wizard of Oz trying to sneak away.
“There she is!” I said.  “Get her on stage and find someone to debate her.”
Dream ends.

Strange as it may sound, I do know where most of the elements of this dream
come from.
The person who owns the site we had our faire last August runs a LARP faire
each spring.  We’re talking with him about performing there next year,
maybe only for food.
I’ve been watching TV shows about the folks who buy things at storage
auctions and things, so I think that is the rooms full of old junk source.
And, the Republican candidates have been splattered all over the news, even
if they really don’t have anything to say about them at this time.
Michelle Bachmann dressed in a rubber tree costume?
You got me there.  No idea where that one came from.
But, I woke up laughing…
