Another strange dream
Oct. 11th, 2011 01:08 pmLast night I had a dream that my wife and I were in a very large, very
fancy, shopping mall. Exactly why we had gone there was not clear.
What was clear was that I needed to find a bathroom.
So, I set off trying to find one.
The first one I tried I thought was marked men’s. But, when I went in, all
the walls were painted pink and several women berated me for going into the
ladies room.
The next one I tried turned out to be a janitorial closet full of junk.
I decide I had to go off to the main one in the center of the mall.
The center of the mall was a large round area with a sweeping curved
stairway between levels that went over a small park with a river and water
fall in it. At the base of the stairs was a large area where a group of
people were setting up to do a show.
I got past them to the bathrooms under the stairs.
But, when I came out, they had started performing their musical. There
were at least a dozen women in sequined gowns doing a choreographed song
and dance number.
And, they were blocking the stairs.
I tried to find another way up to the second level, but the crowd watching
the show wouldn’t let me past.
I decided to try and walk through the garden under the stairs that was next
to the small river.
I climbed up the stone retaining wall, and began to walk around under the
stairs to where I could get onto them.
The ground was very soft and as I walked along, my feet sank into it. One
step, my foot sank so much that it hit the stones of the retaining wall and
knocked them out.
The whole wall collapsed where I was and I fell into the river that ran
next to the park.
The water was surprisingly deep for a river only three feet across, and my
whole body went under water.
Three of the women from the musical stopped dancing and waded into the
river to pull me out.
When they hauled me out onto the stage I saw the musical had stopped and
everyone was looking at me.
“Sorry to have ruined the show,” I said. “I was just trying to get up the
stairs.”
“Places everyone, we’re starting over!” the director said, giving me a
dirty look.
“Thank you for pulling me out of the river,” I said to the three women who
were heading back to the stage.
“No problem,” one of them said. “Maybe after the show we could go and get
a drink or something.”
“Sorry,” I said holding up the hand with my wedding ring. “I’m married.
But, thank you for the offer.”
“No problem,” she said again, and went back to the stage.
They were blocking the stage again, so I jumped back down to where the
bathrooms where thinking there must be elevators somewhere near them.
Dream ends
Bits and pieces of this I can figure out. But, lots of it I’ve got no clue
as to where it came from.
Last night my wife and I were talking about if we should buy iPhones, and
if we did, from where.
We thought we’d go to the Natick Mall. It is a great big, fancy mall.
Just outside of the Apple store is a big fountain that sort of looks like a
waterfall.
There are few places I go that I don’t end up looking for a bathroom, so I
can understand that. (Although I was surprised when I woke up that I
didn’t need to go…)
And, a mall near us has them under the stairs between levels, so that might
be that.
But, the song and dance number?
Walking in gardens and having my feet sink into the ground?
Falling into the river and being pulled out by women in sequined dresses?
Not at all sure what that’s about.
