This morning we set off for Boston.

And went to MFA.

We got there just before opening but there wasn’t much of a line.

But, it was a beautiful day so it wasn’t bad to wait.

We went to see the jewelry exhibit.

I liked this one best.

I also liked this 4000 year old hair scrunchie.

It does make me wonder if hair scrunchies from now will be in museums 4000 years from now...

This case was also very nice. The amber really did seem to glow.

Of course, it is an art museum, so I had to take pictures of benches.

Sadly we were a week early for several new exhibits.

But, we did look through some of the regular galleries.

I thought this one was very interesting.

The two of them are clearly fooling around. Right there on the museum floor too!
But, they don’t really seem to be having a good time.

So, does that mean it is OK to show sex publicly if the folks don’t enjoy doing it?
Sometimes these things confuse me.

I do like the jade statues at the top of the main stairs.

Then we set off for where my wife wanted to have lunch.

It was a bit farther into town/

We had to park in one of those old parking garages with very small entrances and tiny spaces.

It was right near the old Park Plaza hotel where we used to do a lot of sword shows for Higgins.

Maybe that’s why I turned the wrong direction and we walked a block and a half the wrong way...

Apparently my noticing we were going the wrong way counted as an emergency as the fire department responded.

Also, there is a Boston Charter Renaissance school. Why don’t we do sword shows there?

But, we did get where we were going eventually. Part of the reason I wonder if I went the wrong way was also that where its located is very near what was the bad part of town when I was young. So, I never went there. It seems to have changed a lot.

My wife had worried we’d need reservations. But, we didn’t.

Jacob Wirth’s is a nice place with some good German food.

It was very good and very filling.

Then back to the car park and off on other adventures.

The city has changed a lot since I was young, but I managed to find my way around.

Now there are even highway entrances where I didn’t expect them.

In fact, a lot of driving is underground in Boston these days.

But, you still have big bridges that loop around so you get to see over them, beside them and under them.

Some of the bridges have less view than they used to after too many folks jumped off of them.

We went up to Karl Sausage in Saugus. They have some interesting European food. My wife got what she said is reviewed as the best marzipan made.

Next, we set off for Thwaites Market which is known for making meat pies. We were both a bit surprised to find it looked like and ordinary corner store.

But,t he pies are very good.

Finally, we went off to the Whole Foods store in Framingham to finish off our grocery shopping.

It was a good bit of driving.

But, we had a good time and now have a lot of good food to eat.

Wow, you guys cover a lot of ground. My fav in the Jewelry exhibit was also the emerald. The color is fantastic.

I love Jacob Worths too. I have gone with Julie and our friend Barb. A great place.
