Thursday night we went off to O’Connor’s with David T.

Then, back home for the amazing self inflating bed.

Friday some of the folks went off to Higgins where they saw the sword my wife use to use in demos along with the one it was patterned off of.

Then in the afternoon, folks went off to the site to set up.

It was a bit hard to visualize the field filled up.

It is a lot of open space.

Meanwhile I was picking up signs and worry about decapitation.

By the time I got to the site there were a fair number of folks there to help my. My wife’s cart finally got to be used.

The distribution of the hay I found amusing.

When that truck took off they went pretty fast.

There was pizza, and a pizza man not smart enough to keep gas in his car.

Saturday started a bit cloudy, but with the promise of sun later.

Lots of folks showed up early to help.

I can’t say I’ve really spent a lot of time wondering where foam LARP weapons come from. But, finding a foam anvil for making them seems right.

Well before noon, the field started looking more full.

It was hard to tell about the pub.

The Phoenix folks showed up in costume and ready to go.

But, when the day was done, folks seemed ready for a pig roast.

My mother in law and cousin seemed to get along well.

Everyone else seemed to have a good time.

When my wife announced “gossip time”, everyone listened.

Sunday, the “orange girls” were on the loose again.

They showed up everywhere.

There were a few more people, and a bit more going on Sunday.

Even the expensive puppet person got out a bit more.

And, once we finished out show, a rainbow.

At the end of the day, I needed to deal with the trebuchet that almost killed me.

It was that center beam that came over the top and down on my head.

I have to admit I thought “would anyone notice if I pitched it into the woods?”

But, I decided to take it apart so we could use it at Pipes in the Valley.

Some folks even helped.

I did worry about it on the roof rack, but it seemed to work.

Sorry there weren’t more photos. But, we were pretty busy.

I love that pic of [livejournal.com profile] temperlj and [livejournal.com profile] ravena_kade SO MUCH!

That needs to be part of the marketing if you do the event again next year!
