Hallucination or dream?

As I haven’t been feeling well, I took some cold medicine before going to
sleep last night.
It worked, I fell asleep much easier than I would have without it.
But, a couple of hours after I fell asleep I had a strange dream.
I dreamed I was looking over the machine we’re designing & building at
work. But, it was coming together out of big blue pieces like an assembly
drawing putting itself together.
It would get to some points and someone would say “that won’t work” and it
would start again in a different way.
It was like brainstorming ideas for the product was actually causing the
product to be made out of light blue pieces.
“This is a bizarre dream,” I said to myself.
“It’s not a dream,” I was told. “You are hallucinating.”
“But, I’m asleep,” I said. “So, this must be a dream.”
“No, the cold medicine is making you hallucinate,” I was told. “You state
of asleep or awake is irrelevant to that.”
I woke up and it was about 2 in the morning. No blue things assembled
themselves when I woke.
I went back to sleep.
When I was at work yesterday, one of the engineers who works for me asked
me why I didn’t take something for my cough. I told him because the
medicines that work on me mess with my head.
And, when painting signs the other day

the old blueprint making machines.
So, I think it was a dream, not just a hallucination.
But, I’m still not 100% sure…
