Trapped!

I had yesterday off and had made plans for what to do with my day off.
I was going to do some shopping, meet my wife for lunch and pick up some
things we need for our upcoming show.
But, first, I was going to get the oil changed in my car.

Keep in mind it is a 15 ¾ year old car with some parts held on by tie
wraps.  And, even the mechanic says it is in very good condition for a car
that has been through 15 New England winters.

But, it needed more than the oil change.
And, it didn’t get out of the shop until after 6 in the evening.

So, no roaming about for me.  No bringing my wife lunch.  (That was the
saddest part for me.)
The good news is that my wife was very nice went to the Chinese place where
I was going to get lunch for us and brought it home for dinner.

If I’ve got to be trapped some place without a car, then that’s a pretty
good deal.  Stay at home, watch TV, play video games and have my wife bring
me one of my favorites home for dinner.
And, the car works better now too.

Sometimes, the universe brings us just what we need, and not necessarily what we want. But, for those people like you who can roll with it, that is a very good thing. Maybe the car really needed fixing to ensure your safety, and that is a better thing than if they ignored it, simply changed the oil, and you had a problem while roaming about town. You have the right attitude, my friend!
