Troupe Dream
Jan. 29th, 2011 09:47 amI dreams we were at a Phoenix Swords job that was in some sort of school gym. There wasn’t a whole lot of room and all of the fight shows were in a ring at the center that looked like a boxing ring.
We were not the only sword fighting group there and were scheduled for only one show late in the day.
Although the gym was full of different groups and vendors, there wasn’t anyone selling food. As we had a couple of hours to go until our one show, I offered to go out and get people something.
We weren’t far from the center of town and it was some point in the year when things were green, so I decided to walk.
The center of town was only a few blocks away and it didn’t take me too long to get there.
It was one of the types of town center where there is a tight group of stone and brick buildings and then almost nothing else.
There were places that sold food, but they were all closed. Even the ones that said they should be open weren’t. There was no one but me visible anywhere at the town center.
I turned around to head back to the school and saw why everyone had deserted down town.
A riot of angry people was swarming across the street I had used to get downtown. They were throwing rocks, waving torches and smashing everything they could grab.
I decided to take another route back to the school.
I went to the left along a road that ran up a hill behind the school. I followed it for a while and it never turned back towards the school. So, I ended up climbing down a fairly steep, very green, grassy hill.
When I got to the school, our show was almost over.
I was disappointed that I didn’t get to go on, but agreed we should just finish the show and get out as quickly as we could.
Dream ends
(I know I’ve been reading a lot about the riots in Northern Africa this week. So, that may be where that comes from. And, I sent the contract for Pensacola in this week. So, that may be why I was thinking about Phoenix jobs. But, it does seem like a weird way to put them together.)
