There has been a lot of ice around lately.
I found what looks like an ice jelly fish on our front stairs yesterday.

I’m pretty sure this is an old D&D monster waiting to drop on someone who goes after the treasure.

This morning it was snow as well as ice, but I went in anyhow.

When an ice storm is expected all the windshield wipers stand up and salute.

After I got to work, they plowed the lot. But, at least they plowed.

It kept snowing. But, it wasn’t snow flakes. It was small snow balls falling from the sky. So, it built up on the cars pretty fast.

The drive home was after it switched to rain. Rather then melting the snow, it added a layer of ice to the roads and on top of the snow.
Glad I got home without problem.

Date: 2011-01-19 03:34 am (UTC)140, 495 and 109 were all very slow and struggling. I fishtailed a bit on 140 after about 5 minutes on my drive. Not fun. But, I managed to do fine otherwise. I should have stayed off of 495, although thankfully there was only 6 other drivers with me, that is until a huge chunk of cars came on me just short of my exit, then it got kinda scary, with everyone looking to shoot past the slower trucks and me.
My drive home I just stayed off the highway and went through Milford, that wasn't nearly as bad. And I left work early, so that helped too. Although it seemed like I timed it so that every City plow truck in Milford crossed every intersection I stopped at, sending a pile of ice and snow for me to bump and slip over.
then I had to plow and shovel for an hour at home, by then it was about 6 inches of fluffy snow with ice forming on top. Looking out the window now it looks like everything is ice. So tomorrow morning is probably going to be much worse driving.
