An (almost) end of car porn
Aug. 22nd, 2010 07:48 pmWe had hoped to do some fire practice today, but the rain changed our mind.
We did bring a couple of practice items so people could start learning them.

Devon got to experience why my wife is the only person who risks the meteors.

We spent a lot of time trying to get the trebuchet together.

We got it together and brought it out on the lawn, even with the light rain.

It was after that we realized the power lines are fairly low.

So, we picked it up and moved it to the backyard.

So, we loaded it with a water bottle, and fired it off.

We watched the water bottle go sailing up. Over the garage. To where the nice car was sitting under the tarp. We saw it come down. We heard a loud “thunk” from the other side of the garage where the car being restored was sitting...

From what she said, we missed it by at least 5 feet.
We rotated the trebuchet before trying again.

No matter what anyone else tells you, we did NOT launch the dog.

Trust me, that’s a water bottle flying out of the sling.

It did go a good ways down range. Can you spot the folks looking for it?

We did change slings, but it didn’t seem as good.

But, we decided it was good enough and we should take it down and put it away.

Then, it was only a matter of the proper storage of tools.
