Sick and tired

fbhjrI hate it when stores won’t take my money.
I went to buy my wife a birthday present. I took it, and another thing I was buying to the front. Three registers, a person at each, but all with their lights off. The only light on was at the customer service desk where 4 people were waiting to return things.
“Are you open?” I asked one of the three people standing at registers.
“No,” he said. I looked at the other two standing there. The last one pointed to the service desk and the line.
I went and stood in the line. The first person was arguing with the woman there about returning a printer. The woman at the counter called over the man I had asked from his register. He came over and looked at it and poked a few buttons on her register.
“I can’t help,” he said. “I’ve got to be on my register.”
He went back there.
“So, you are open?” I asked, going back over to him.
“No,” he said.
So, I’m not sure what he was doing there. It certainly wasn’t helping customers. So, I put down my stuff and walked out of the store.
It didn’t help that I woke up with a headache and felt sick all day. I actually slept about 4 hours in the afternoon which is almost unknown for me.
