Rainy day orange

It was a cool and rainy day today. Most of the time it was just drizzle, but it turned into a hard rain from time to time. The stream through our courtyard was going strong.


Just before noon we set off for That’s Entertainment and their “Women in Comics Day”.
We’ve been going to that comic store since 1982 so it’s always a bit like old home week going there. The store manager, Ken, used to draw the store comic hero “Insect Man” with my wife 20+ years ago. He also did a few of the issues of the small comic we used to do. So, my wife had a nice visit with him while we were there.

I had really wanted to go today because Hilary Price who does Rhymes With Orange was there. I’ve liked that comic strip for a long time.
I bought two of her collections from her. She signed both and did a dog doodle in each. She asked if I was a cat or dog person, and drew the one I picked. She seemed very nice an I was quite happy to get signed books.

We did have a nice drive through Worcester.




I find a large disparity between the look of the old and new buildings in Worcester. Now, that’s true of a lot of other places too. My wife said I should spend some time showing what I mean. So, maybe at some point I’ll wander around Worcester with my camera.

This car that was in front of us for a lot of the trip looked like it had yellow fangs to me.


That’s Entertainment is, now, near a nice park in Worcester.

They were having some sort of art event there today, but it was just too damp for us to want to spend time there. The same was true of the street festival on Shrewsbury Street.
Maybe if the weather was dryer. But, not today.

Perhaps I was not the only one who wanted to see the artists who were there today. This person certainly seemed in a rush to park.
