Dream

I had a dream I was at my parents house. The house was much, much bigger than it really was and had several wings with different things going on.
A police inspector in a tan trench coat told me that unless I turned over to him what he wanted, he’d send his people to have me taken away.
I refused.
He left.
I knew his people would be watching the house to make it very hard to leave. So, my plan was to hide in the house and make him think I had managed to sneak past his men.
He had met with me in the attic, so I started there. It was a big open room with several stands to hang clothes on along one wall. I moved them out from the wall some and stood behind the clothing on hangers.
There was some sort of party going on the house and people were milling about in all sections. So, I did not tell anyone I was trying to hide. I’d just hide and see if anyone noticed me.
In the attic, they saw my feet under the hanging cloths, so I moved on to the next floor down.
I tried to hide behind the couch and the wall in a living room. It was a pretty good place, but people saw me looking in from the end, so I moved on.
The main floor was way too open with lots of people milling about. I looked through the kitchen there, but there wasn’t anything that would work as a hiding place.
I tried several things in the basement. There weren’t people there, so I couldn’t tell how well it was working. But, I knew it would be one of the places the police would check, so I was extra careful.
I found an old door to a coal bin off to the side of the basement. I got it open and went in there.
For some reason, there was another clothing rack in there, so I went and hid behind that. To avoid the visible feet issue, I moved it behind a stack of metal parts.
I sat down behind the rack and waited.
I heard the police moving around in the basement. One of them found the door to the coal bin.
The inspector came in after him and started looking around. I stayed very still.
“Look over here,” the inspector said, pointing my way.
“That’s just an old mannequin,” my wife said, coming into the coal bin with a bright red cloak and a blond wig. The put cloak and wig over me as I sat there very still.
The inspector stared at me as I sat there with wig on and cloak over me.
“It’s him, take him,” he said and walked out of the coal bin.
Two of his men grabbed me to drag me after him.
Dream ends.

I should point out, the house my father had built in the 1950’s had no coal bin. He tried to have it built without a fire place, but the contractor insisted on one.
And, the house was far, far smaller than in the dream.
Some of the hiding places in the dream are ones I used playing hide and seek growing up.
I did hide in my parent’s closet behind the hanging clothes. I did hide behind the couch in the living room. In the basement I’d hide behind the oil tank for the furnace, in a similar part of the basement as the coal bin was in the dream.

See I die in one of your dreams and you have problems hiding the body. The dream police will get you.

Yeah...Maybe you were thinking about the coal shaft at Hoops? Lots of rooms in there, as well.

Nice Icon, BTW, Morgan
