My wife suggested we declare Wednesday our “creative” day and each try and make something creative for the other.

She did a very nice water color painting for me. I did a couple of Bryce landscapes from my D&D worlds and a mock job hunting video.
(It’s quicktime. Sorry if that troubles anyone, but it’s much easier for me to do quicktime then AVI. And, at least for me, it takes up less space too.)

I did also make fried chicken tonight.

I do almost all the cooking, but hadn’t done fried chicken before. My wife got the recipe from the family that comes to so many of our shows down south. It worked out quite well.
My corn muffins did not work out well as I expected the teflon pan to require little grease. Well, now I know...

Other than that, not much. No new job postings since the 1 on Monday. I’ve been sending DVD’s to companies in the area that seem like good places to work. But, the DVD’s are expensive and cost more than 3 times a letter to send. Maybe I’ll go back to paper unless there is a compelling reason.
I want to stand out, but not break the bank. These are companies that are not listing any open jobs. How much do I want to spend on them?
Don’t know, have to think about that.

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I had any contact about any job. So, I’ve certainly got to start doing more...

Do banana-coconut muffins count?

I found a new recipe for these muffins in the newspaper last week, and finally got around to making some last night. They aren't too bad. Less sweet than I thought that they'd be - so maybe that it more healthy, I don't know. Of course the fruit has natural sugars but the recipe only adds 3/4c of brown sugar. Anyhow, not the best muffins, but not bad.

I'm impressed with the "creativity day" idea ! I'm also impressed with anyone who can do a decent watercolor painting. I've got to try again, but it seems to be much harder than oils or acrylics - it is perhaps more critical what you "don't" color rather than what areas you do..

I'd save the DVDs for going out to those postings that look REALLY interesting to you, and not just send them out for any old postings. I found that I had 2-3 different versions of resume's and 2-3 different versions of cover letters, depending on the major emphasis of the posting requirements (more software oriented or more hardware or more systems .v. components related, etc.)

The muffins tasted fine. But, they stuck to the pan so came out as muffin bits.
I thought the teflon pan would be better at getting them out, so I only put in a very small spritz of Pam in them. I should have really put in much more...

Oh, and I just watched your movie..

It could certainly help you get a job on the Daily show with John Stewart - one of my favorite "news" programs..

My wife works for the AV department of a college.
The folks working there have been very nice and let me use their studio.
