Sunday started with us performing at the MidSummer Fantasy Renaissance Faire in Connecticut:

My wife and I left after the second show, drove home, and got ready.
As the price of parking at the airport is very high for the time we’ll be away, I got us a ride in.

Most of the drive was my normal commute, but traffic was far better on a Sunday afternoon than a weekday morning.

You can almost, but not quite see where I work around the bend of the river as we continued on to the airport.

We had dinner there, saw our plane come in, then boarded for our flight.

We fell asleep and woke up over Ireland. The wing of the plane looked fairly dirty, so maybe things were not good over Iceland. Don’t know.

We got our rental car and took off out of town for the LOUGHCREW PASSAGE TOMBS!

It is a very beepy car. Beeps if you go too fast, too slow, if the exit you go past had a slower speed limit and every 20 minutes beeps to suggest you stop and take a break as you’ve been going so long. I will try and avoid this kid of car in the future…

I do want to point out that this road is not one way. It is a 2 directional road that my car assured me had a 45 mile per hour speed limit.

We did get there. It’s a nice spot, away from the city. There’s no charge to go in, but you do have to walk up a good bit of hill.

Benches! My favorite.

And, with a nice view.

My wife took this photo so I could ask people to “like and share this post”.

We did get to the top.

There was a tour already going and we joined the end of it. These tombs are very similar to the ones we saw in Sligo back in 1999, but these you can’t go into.

When we got to the place, I had not been able to find my raincoat in my suitcase (it was there, but buried deep), and seeing as it was a whole 13C, and at the time sunny, I had come up without it.

But, it was clear that the rain was planning on making a visit.

I decided to hold out until the rain actually started before going back to the car. And, the second tour guide, Emma, soon appeared and started a new tour. The sun even came out to show some carvings in good contrast.

But, eventually a pair of ravens called our attention tom the approaching rain and I decided the better part of valor was to go back to the car as a few pellets of hail hit me.

Once down, we drove into Dublin, found the castle we’re staying at and slept for 12 hours.

Hooray!

I fly Delta for the family get together trip this weekend.
Hope it's as good a flight as yours was.
Even if the wings are dirty.

If you guys ever want to leave your car at my place and take a cab (or Uber) to Logan you are more than welcome to.

I love that window seat.

I'm impressed by your ability to drive on the left after an overnight flight! From what I recall from being in my friend's car, the beeping and warnings about speed are standard in Ireland.
