Now that I’ve finally gone through the photos from our trip I can post the photos that go with my entry of getting to Africa:

The cruise provided a driver to the airport for us, despite not actually arranging the flights. But, given driving into Boston and the cost of parking, it was worth it.
I normally don’t get to look around when going to the airport as I’m driving.

As my wife can no longer eat anything that walks on land, we’ve started a tradition of eating at Legal Seafood at the airport.

The terminal has a nice view of downtown across the harbor.

The police were waiting for the plane we’d eventually get on and stopped it before it got to the terminal. Exactly what was going on was not clear.

The plane was eventually allowed to park and the only result we saw of this was we were forbidden to use the toilets on the plane before it got in the air. Not sure the connection.

Given the issue of unused doors on airplanes popping off, the captain of the plane came back and explained to me why it was safe for me to sit where I was assigned.

Taking off we flew past Worcester, across the valley from where we live. The proximity of Worcester to our route would be a trend.

We had 3 hours in Atlanta, so walked between terminals looking at their museum in the basement.

The "Corncord" is not something I had seen before, but I hadn’t been to terminal E before…

There was a display of what was confiscated from folks on international arrivals and for which they were arrested. This would stay in my mind when shopping in Africa…

The plane seemed small for such a long trip, but it made it…

Sadly our seats were in the middle, so no window for me.

Wait, this jog in our path lines up with something…

Yeah, that’s weird. Our flight path changed just when we were hitting the border of the Bermuda Triangle…

But, old "In Search Of" episodes or not, we continued across and down the ocean.

And, strangely found Worcester waiting for us at this end too…

Their method of dealing with international flights is park away from the terminal and make folks walk to a bus to be taken to the immigration area of the terminal.
I didn’t mind. I could then officially say I had walked on all 7 continents.

We checked into our "green" hotel near the airport and I had dinner by the garden while my wife fell asleep.
