A week ago Wednesday my wife and I went over to storage to get the stuff for the show.

We waited for Casey to come by with his father in law’s van and then loaded it up.

Then, I headed over to the train station to pick up ravena-kade.

I was a bit worried when she didn’t get off the train, but it turns out she just got off on the other end.

Fairly early the next morning Casey and the van returned and they all headed off.

I had to find some new luggage as my normal bag went to Pirate Games props. Target was not in good condition, but I did find one.

5AM Friday I was going into Boston and stuck in traffic.

The airport was pretty crowded and the vending machines now sell masks and other personal protective equipment.

The plane was very full, but I got one OK.

A quick stop in Atlanta, then on to the next plane.

I could see the faire site as we landed. It is to the right of the Biloxi Colosseum, the big round building.

The folks who’d rove were very tired when I got there, but they had set things up.

Everyone was happy to be there.

We headed to the hotel where they had rented us a very nice little cottage with three bed rooms we could split between the 7 of us.

Then we went to the barbecue place for dinner.

The sunset was nice and the food was good.

We did not go off to the beach. (16 years ago there was a troupe trip to the beach on one of these shows that is still remembered now for lost shoes…)

Morning we started with breakfast.

Then, off to the faire site.
I’m not sure about this bridge to the parking lot we needed to use.

The faire was held on the grounds of the "Presidential Library of Jefferson Davis". You know, the guy who was in charge of the side of the US civil war that lost. So, not president of the US. President of the CSA…

There was a lot to unpack with that. I’m still not sure of all of it.

But, we were in the field off to the side, not the museum.

We did use their bathrooms, which had a corridor that hurt my eyes.

It was nicely by the sea.

I had a problem with my gloves. All winter I’ve used one right green and one brown left. We found another green/brown pair so I thought it would be OK. It was not.

We did our shows by the sea.

Afterwards we went back to the barbecue place as it was the only place we knew in town.

Tom burnt his head in the fire show, but not bad. My wife had put burn gel on him very soon after, so it was OK.

We did have our usual debrief meeting afterwards at the cottage.

It’s a bit strange that plants are growing inside…

Sunday morning, back to the site.

Again, we did our shows.

We did our Pirate Games.
One kids "stomp rats" to see who can do it best. The winner isn’t the one who stomps the most, but the person who brings back as many scraps of them for dinner. (So we don’t have to pick up afterwards…)

The second game is also for kids and is a race where they try and carry limes between pirates on spoons. But, the pirates steal the limes and give them other things like pineapples.

Then, a third game of throwing sticky things at crabs.

Finally, after Tom and I do our fight, a game with drinking water from bottles without touching them with your hands. I helped folks cheat.

Then other pirates come in and "steal our crew" and shoot Tom.

We were awarded "The Star Of the Sea" for being the best pirate group there.

Monday morning my 6AM flight was delayed to 10. So, I could drive Tom to the airport after all.

There was a lot of argument getting on a plane.

The plane I was supposed to be on isn’t the one I got onto, but it did leave first.

So into the air only 4 1/2 hours late.

I only had enough time in Atlanta to get from D to T before boarding.

I did have an exit row seat.

When I got back to Boston my car was parked in. After calling for help and telling them where I was, someone came and moved it.
