At 11:00 my computer reminds me to take my pills.
I take out my high blood pressure pill, pop in in my mouth. As I start to swallow it, I reach for my soda to take a swig and wash it down.

(Anyone who is going to point out any issue with my taking a high blood pressure medication with caffeinated soda can stop here. The rest of the story is not for you.)

I unscrew the bottle cap, put the bottle to my mouth and sneeze.

My office is less than 5 feet wide. I sit in the middle. My computer screens are therefore positioned in just the right place to be a splash reflector.

So, between the force of the sneeze going into the bottle and bouncing off the bottom, and the liquid in my mouth bouncing off the monitors, a fine mist of yellow/green filled my office.

“What was that?” Jay asked from the next cube.

“A diet Mountain Dew front passing through,” I said. I began wiping down the surfaces of my office.

My real worry is about that high blood pressure pill. Did it make it down? Did it get launched? Is it somewhere in my office?
I don’t want to take a second one in case it did make it down before the sneeze. But, I don’t want to not take one if it got launched.

I searched my office for a bit. I found a gummi bear from last week that is about the right size that I couldn’t find last week when I dropped it.

So, I probably would have found anything else that size, right?
Or, will I find a small orange/yellow pill lodged behind my computer’s power cords some time in the future?

At least it can be wiped down easily. I’ve certainly sneezed while consuming worse things than soda...
