Monday the main highway I take to work had some sort of massive accident involving large trucks rolling over and closing 2/3 lanes.
The good news is I heard this on the news before leaving home.
I often face traffic problems coming home, so have a bunch of back road alternates. But, my favorite is one way south. So, I had to take an alternate, alternate way north that morning.
But, it is a nice drive by the reservoir.

The town where I work has a long (30km) walking path that runs through the center of town.

I am very interested in it, but there is only so far I can go at lunch time.
And, I’m not allowed to drive down it.

I’m told that it follows an old rail line and they are planning on expanding it to be at least twice its current length.
Tuesday night we had dinner with my aunt and her husband.

As the summer winds down and it isn’t quite so hot during the day I’m trying to walk around more at lunch.
This week I tried the area next to where I work.

It doesn’t help what I catch.

I did hatch one I hadn’t seen before from an egg.

As my boss is on vacation this week and next, meetings have been sparsely attended.

As I’ve said elsewhere I have a lot of bad memories from this time of year. My wife bought me a dog balloon to cheer me up. It worked.

I expect there is a story about this in the supermarket near where I work, but I will never know it.

Despite us nearing the end of summer, several days this week were back to hot and humid.

Nice sunsets.

Saturday we drove about running various errands. We decided to take the less direct ways between towns.
The secondary roads have much nicer views.

Even the major roads have some nice views.

The city of Worcester went all out for the Italian festival last week.

Then, back across the valley to home.

The windows of our apartment entrance way have strange circles on them that only show up when the sun hits them at the right angles.

My theory is they are Galifreyan time-space coordinates and ones I find the Tardis that goes to either of my two keys I’ll use them to see where they go.
Until then, laundry. We finally gave up on our laundry hamper after 23 years.

It was sad to toss it in the trash, but I did.
It was one of those days where there is just a lot of water in the air, even if the thermometers don’t say it is all that hot. It felt hot.

20 years ago a different aunt of mine had a big birthday party. We went to a crab restaurant where everyone was given wooden mallets to break open crabs.
Yesterday at the supermarket they had a bin of those mallets.
I can’t deny i stopped and played with them some.

It’s been 15 years since that aunt died. I miss her.
I was not able to catch this Pokemon.

I did find that the flying dog balloon would be made to stand on the ceiling of our living room.
I think that’s really cool.

Date: 2016-08-29 11:49 am (UTC)If we don't get some rain by Thursday it will go in the records as the driest August in recorded history for this area. It's about 50/50 if we'll get the rain to only come in second or not.
So, normally more green than this...
