Tomorrow is the 16th anniversary of joining a sword performance group.
Ten days later, just after I agreed to do my first show and lose in an
embarrassing way, my father died.
He never said “over my dead body”, it just worked out that way.
(He performed on several musical instruments for 73 of his 85 years. Being
on stage wasn’t an issue for him. He just never understood why I wasn’t
making music doing it…)

Of course, our goddaughter was born that same year too. I get along with
her much better than I ever did with my father…

It’s been quite the 16 years.
