New Jersey show: Day 2

Saturday night my wife and I stopped to get tent cleaning things. So, first thing Sunday morning we were cleaning left over mouse off of the canvas of our tent.

We ended up just dousing some of the spots with soap and leaving it on. This helped. Some day we’ll wash it off.

The good news was the weather was fantastic for this show. We’ve been doing it since 2003, and I don’t think it has ever been better.

Once the tent was scrubbed, my wife and I just got to sit there for a while. Almost no one else was on the site. The weather was perfect. It was very nice.

Then it was time for the all cast photo.

One of the feedback things the night before was "not enough practice". So, we set people on that.

But, there was still time for chess.

We had an ex-member stop by. She hasn’t been with the troupe since 2005. She was there with her step son and new son.

She watched our shows…

Day 2 my wife and I took some time to visit the glass museum gift shop. We didn’t get anything. This is unusual for us.

There was a petting zoo that had a big tortoise. They let it go for walks.

But, not far until they came and collected it.

Anton, the faire organizer, stopped by to visit with us some. He’s been a guest star for us at a number of shows and we like visiting with him.

Everyone was having a great time!

Again, we did the stage shows. Bad guys come and threaten.

Good guys come and rescue.

We fight.

He and I used to do this in the early 80’s with wooden swords…

During the first show the pommel of my wife’s sword came off. Sad. She’s had that sword for many years.
But, we still did our bits.

And, our historical shows.

One of the chairs broke too. So, we really did declare it a breaking things weekend.
The last act of the day is the fight group of the fair organizer doing their fights.

Dom and Shawn do their whip thing.

Snapping spaghetti out of Dom’s mouth.

Tough to get a photo of that.

Yeah, the guy with the whip put on the blindfold.

Aim high…

But, the plot stopped them before it got too bad…

And, more people took to fighting.

We told the "Queen of hearts" she was welcome to join us any time she wanted.

Then, back to the hotel.

Everyone else took off to go home. My wife and I had taken Monday off from work, so we stayed. It was very nice not to rush into traffic, fight past NYC and try and get home to be at work at 7:30 the next morning.
Especially when we sat down for a nice meal instead of rest area food.

That was very nice.
