Getting ready Monday morning to head home, I found my new sneakers broke. This did not make me happy…

We got this green back from Aer Lingus on our honeymoon 19 years ago. I thought it a cheap bag then. But, it has held up…

We started our trip home just after dawn.

Back up to the highways north.

For the start, it was still very warm.

For the most part, the drive home was uneventful. But, over that distance there is always something.

Atlanta was much less cloudy than when I had been there the Monday before.

But, north of Atlanta, bad traffic again.

Still warm in South Carolina.

When we came out of the rest area building a man came up to us and told us how he used to work off the coast of Massachusetts as a tuna fisherman. We think he saw our Mass license plate and stopped to chat.

We passed the Peachoid before sunset.

The sun went down when we were in North Carolina.

In Virginia, an hour lost to bad traffic in a construction zone.

What annoyed me most was there were "express lanes" they could have opened to let folks go around, but they didn’t. That seems like they want to stop drivers for an hour…

But, we got past and through Maryland.

We were back in New England when the sun began to rise. It was also below freezing.

We just beat morning rush through Hartford after dropping off Bucket Head.

So, traffic wasn’t bad once we were past it.

Sadly, it was still school bus time when we got back to Shrewsbury.

I think it is wasteful to have them stop at every other house.

But, we got home!

We took a 5 hour nap, then got back in the car.

We went to storage and unloaded the car.

The swords and fire stuff can stay there for a couple of months…

We got some food, headed home and had no trouble sleeping.
Good to be home!

Did they add a leaf to the peach?

It was there before, but they moved it closer to the front.
