The snow storm yesterday did not leave anywhere near as much snow as predicted.

But, I was still thankful I worked from home yesterday.
I was also thankful that our internet connection was back.

As has been tradition for a while now, my wife and I get together with [livejournal.com profile] yebo & [livejournal.com profile] zosh for the holiday. As my wife and Yebo work at a university they invite any students with no place to go to the holiday to come to their house for it.

I usually do the turkey cooking. That takes about 5 hours, so I got up somewhat early to start. My wife wanted to support me in this, so moved to the living room while I cooked.

The good news is it is very easy to cook a turkey.

But, then I had to go clear off the snow from yesterday. I’m thankful it was the 4 times as much predicted!

I did not bother with my car.

We got there and got everything ready for the meal. Only one student joined us this year.

It was clear that Yebo turns more left than right when he drives.

I am thankful for the good meal. But, I do admit it isn’t going to help me with that plane seat in 2 weeks…

After eating we broke out some games. Dixit was first.

This is as close to a pair as you can get it Dixit!

After that, desert time!

Finally we played the game of decapitation. Nothing says major holiday like that, right?

I was hoping to do it this morning, but wrote thanksgiving letters to the god kids and that took a lot longer than I expected. (I had trouble stretching out I'm thankful you're around to three pages...)
Maybe tomorrow...
If not, the PM...

No worries, I got to the post office Saturday.
I have no idea how long it will take to make the transit, but it is on the way.
And, I promise my mailing address is inside.

Fantastic! It shouldn't take too long - no more than 2 weeks I wouldn't think :) thank you.

Yumzo! We are doing our Thanksgiving tomorrow (Friday)...because the snow was a little more intense, out here, and took our electricity out for 12.5 hours, yesterday, eating my prep time. So...today I prepped. I'm feeding 3. I have dessert for 12. Ha.

We should get together while I'm home! Dinner? I'm home until after Christmas. :)

By all means, let's work something out!
It is a busy month for us, but hopefully we can find a day that works for us.

Any idea when you might have time?

Is there a geographical range you would like to remain within?
I'm assuming you're up near Gardner...

I am amazed at how much food you eat on Thanksgiving. I'm thankful we don't have anything like this :P

Yeah, like so many things it has spiraled out of control.
It used to be a big time for family. Now it is more about football and overeating.
But it was still good food and nice to spend the time with friends.

If you're ever interested in coming to a game night I'm sure you'd be welcome.
We're skipping the one in December for my wife's birthday trip. But, any other we'd be happy to put you up for the night after it and get you home the next day.
