Yesterday the storm began.

The forecasts were for anything between 2 and 15 inches. (5-40cm)
By the time we went to bed last night there was more than the minimum.

By morning there was somewhere around 5”/13cm. But, it was piled much higher where the plows had been.

The plows were doing their best, and got really close to my wife’s car.

It’s good that he is an experience driver as he was able to clear along the bumper line of my wife’s car.

But, we decided to go clear the rest ourselves.

It was switching over to a freezing drizzle. So, it was leaving a hard layer over fluffy snow.

Remember, where we live, this car is cleaned enough to move.

But, the windows do need to be cleaned a bit more before going too much farther.

My car, parked where the plows do not leave the extra snow, took much less work.

To celebrate all this, our Christmas cactus started to bloom!

Date: 2013-12-15 06:19 pm (UTC)It's a bit late. We usually get one this size earlier than this.
In January and February it is not uncommon to get them once a week or so.
But, some years, none.
This time of year it won't stay. The temperature goes up and down too much. By Friday it is supposed to be up to +10C.
