Phoenix Swords Christmas party
Dec. 7th, 2013 11:10 pm
There was the potential for a big winter storm last night.

It wasn’t a problem.
We drove off to a meeting about a faire we are hoping to do next year. The meeting went better than I expected and got over in plenty of time to get home before heading off to the Christmas party.
There are certain members of the group that are not so punctual. So, my wife told people 7:45 when it was actually scheduled at 8:00. So, by 7:30 most of the folks were there.

We’ve been going to that restaurant since it opened almost 30 years ago. Our table was still ready 1/2 hour early.
The folks who aren’t normally punctual and we tired to get to show up on time showed up at 8:15. We had already ordered our food. But, because it is a good place for these types of events, we all got our food at the same time, very quickly.
Casey told us a number of very “interesting stories”.

I tried to get a photo of him telling the story of how a raccoon had gotten into this chicken coop and he tried to get it out with a combination of a baby safety fence and a rapier. But, I was laughing too hard to get a good photo.

The point where he said “but this time I had pants, and that gave me the advantage” I stopped even trying to get a photo.
As always the food was good, and it is good to get everyone together for a good time.

And, folks seemed to have a good time.

I’m not saying that a few phones might have been checked, but I still think it was a good time.

The extra good news is that Devon brought with him the pay we were owed for the show we did back at Halloween. http://fbhjr.livejournal.com/810707.html
So, that paid for a lot of the meal. Always nice when the jobs the troupe does pays for things like this.
A good time was had.

Heh, I used to tell my hubby also a wrong time when we needed to arrive somewhere. He has the bad habit to go shaving, and showering and all that 5 minutes before we need to be somewhere. (While we NEED those 5' to drive up to the place)
The dishes I can see in the pics are looking yum!!
And yay for the payment!!! That's great when something like that happens.

It is very good.
No, it is not common for them to take 2 months to pay us. This was a special case. We had done the show for someone one of our members knows in Connecticut, the state just south of where we live. It's about 175km away from where we live.
The person who hired us gave the pay to our member who arranged the show.
Then, he and his wife had their baby a month earlier than expected.
So, he was not able to bring the pay up to us and we agreed to wait until someone we knew from that area was coming up to us.
