Strange dream

I dreamed my wife and I were on vacation somewhere tropical. I think it was the Caribbean, but it could have been any similar warm place with a lot of islands.

There was some big church thing going on. They were going to put a new steeple on a church for the first time in a few hundred years and it was all over the news.
A company was selling helicopter rides so you could see it from the air.
My wife thought that was interesting, but is afraid of heights. So, she told me I should go on one first and see if she would be OK with it or not.

I went to the airport. They told me the helicopter was busy with a tour, but they could give me the same tour in a small airplane if I wanted.

I agreed and we took off. We went up over the harbor and around to where the church was. After we passed the church we went out over the harbor again.

“It’s another $20 if you want me to land,” the pilot said to me.
“What?”
“You only paid for me to bring you up here, not to bring you back. So, you pay another $20 or you get out here.”

I looked down at the very nice blue water below.
I opened the door and jumped out into it.

I swam ashore, got in my car and drove out to where my wife was waiting near the church being built.

“No, that’s not the sort of tour you’d like,” I told her.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought,” she said.
We watched them put up the steeple from the ground.

I have no idea at all where this dream comes from. Last night at Thanksgiving we did not talk about the Caribbean, jumping out of planes or churches.

But, it wasn’t really that similar. In that case, we didn’t pay anything until we all saw the dolphin and only paid to go in when we had. So, it wasn’t extorting extra money, it was not paying until we were satisfied and that happened to be when we were out on the water.
