Attack of the toothbrush!
Jul. 15th, 2013 12:54 pmPractice yesterday had been very hot. Various things that went on there
really wore both my wife and me out.
So, we went to bed fairly early and both fell asleep right away.
A few hours later I woke up as there was a buzzing noise that sounded like
and alarm going off.
Bzzz, bzzz, bzzz, bzzz…
I checked the clock radio. Hours until the alarm was set. And, the sound
was not like its alarm.
Bzzz, bzzz, bzzz, bzzz…
I reached over to the air filter, which was in the direction of the sound.
Turned it off, buzzing kept going.
Bzzz, bzzz, bzzz, bzzz…
I got up and went over to the bathroom. It was much louder here. And, it
echoed in the small, tiled, room.
BZZZ, BZZZ, BZZZ, BZZZ!
I checked the sink. Not leaking, no pipes squeaking.
BZZZ, BZZZ, BZZZ, BZZZ!
I checked the toilet. Not leaking, no pipes squeaking.
BZZZ, BZZZ, BZZZ, BZZZ!
I checked the shower stall. VERY loud now.
BZZZ! BZZZ! BZZZ! BZZZ!
I checked the shower valve. No leak.
BZZZ! BZZZ! BZZZ! BZZZ!
I turned it on and off. No change.
BZZZ! BZZZ! BZZZ! BZZZ!
I stepped into the shower to look at the shower head.
BZZZ! BZZZ! BZZZ! BZZZ!
Something moved under my foot!
BZZZ! BZZZ! BZZZ! BZZZ!
It was my battery operated toothbrush. It had apparently fallen into the
shower stall and started up when it landed. The bottom of the shower acted
like a big amplifier and the shower stall and echo chamber.
I went back to bed.
What I still don’t understand: How could it fall and land on its switch?
The switch is in the middle, lower down than the bristles and takes a
pretty firm push from my thumb…
