Snow and game night

Last month, game night was cancelled due to 27 inches of snow.
So, when they said it was going to snow from Wednesday to Friday, we were again worried.
Wednesday night the snow started. But, by Thursday morning there still wasn’t much snow.


By evening it was windy, but still not too much snow.


This didn’t stop people from getting into accidents in little snow.


Friday morning it was a bit deeper on my car.


And, it was enough to make driving annoying.


It had been a long time since I’d seen a truck jackknife on the highway blocking 3 lanes.


I got to work late enough to lose my normal parking spot to that old Mercedes.


The snow kept falling all day.


The CEO, visiting from Switzerland, needed help getting his car out of the snow.


About 6 inches of snow had fallen over the day.


I spent some time helping other folks getting their car out of the snow. (I hadn’t gone to help the CEO...)


The snow had stopped by the evening, so when we headed off to game night it was just a nice sunset.


yebo had spent several hours clearing his driveway, so we parked there.


The 15 pounds of corned beef had shrunk some in the boil, but there was still plenty.


And folks seemed happy to have it.


blue_micha brought the brainwave controlled cat ears that perrin_o_ravnos bought her for her birthday last week.


Lots of folks tried them.



Then, Yebo brought out his mini-theremin and that got a lot of attention too.


I did have one bad bit when I got stuck in Zosh’s reclining chair. This is what I get for eating too much corned beef.

My wife’s response was to take a nap.


We did eventually get around to playing games at game night.


The ears were eventually put on me as well.

For reasons not clear to me, folks seemed to find this extra amusing. So they were kept on me as we played the next couple of games.


The ears were eventually passed on.


It was a good time, and I’m glad the snow didn’t cancel it. We’ve still got a lot of beef left. It would be a WHOLE lot if we hadn’t been having lots of folks eating it.

A fair number of people did drop out due to the snow, so we do have a good bit left over.
