Cookie time

When I go out to places that give me fortune cookies I keep the fortune.
After they build up for a while, I record them here.

Here is the latest batch:
1) You are a man of righteousness and integrity.
2) One extends one’s limits only be exceeding them.
3) Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important.
4) Opportunities surround you if you know where to look.
5) Old friends make best friends.
6) A new romance is in the future.
7) Time to break out of that corner, unstuck that rut.
8) A man who trims himself to suit everybody will soon whittle himself away.
9) Time is the wisest counselor.
10) If your friend wants to learn to drive, don’t stand in the way.
11) relationships.
It’s an odd bunch. Some I’d like to be true (#1 & #4). Some I’m sure are
wrong (#2, #5 & #6)The last one is the one I got today. I’m not even sure
what it is supposed to mean.

What bugs me about a lot of those is that they aren't fortunes, they're just sayings or compliments. It's like, come on! I expect prognositcation!

Wanna bet that the fortune cookie companies started getting worried about litigation? "My fortunre didn't come true. I;m calling my lawyer!"

It also bothers me that they are not fortunes.
I don't know if lawyers were involved, but I do bet the get less complaints about putting in compliments than fortunes.

I save all of mine...they are in one of my smash books I keep just for that occasion (well...there's also some wrappers from some candies Jeff has gotten me over the years...mostly doves because they have little "promises" in them)

#11 is odd.

I never eat chinese food so I have no idea if they give out fortune cookies - I suppose they do.

I eat a lot of Thai though and some Malaysian. They don't do fortune cookies.

I think this is a lovely collection - do you keep them all in a jar or something?
